SEPARATED

I am going to tell you the story of a couple.First of all, the films tell you how they met. They were in a baseball match. He was with a mate and he saw her with a boy, and he thought “she is very beautiful”. At the end of the match he went near her and asked her if the boy was her boyfriend, husband or something like that. And when the film starts after the titles, they are already a couple and live together. He works in a touristic bus, it is his family business and she works in a gallery. One day, they invited their friends at home for dinner and to talk about their lives. But that night before the dinner they had an argument, and the reason why they argued was that he did not help her in the housework. Then they left home for a while and she went to bed immediately and annoyed with him. From this very moment until the scene of the movie I have seen, they continue living together but each one has their own part of the house, and in their part they can do what they feel like doing. This situation leads in a lot of comic and stress conversations and arguments between them.

WHAT I DID IN SUMMER

During the summer holidays I did a lot of different things.First, when I finished the school year, I went to the beach everyday with my friends.Sometimes we rent a boat and went to the deep end of the sea, we swam and played in the slide, we had a very good time those days. Then we went to a supermarket and bought food like chocolate, cookies, ice-cream, etc for tea.On Saturday night we went to Benicasim and had dinner together in a restaurant, after this we went clubbing and dancing and talked one another about our lives and made plans for the following week, and we drank something. When the pubs at Dolores square were locked, we went to K’sim or Be cool, and danced until 4 o’clock. In September I travelled with my family to Sicilia and Ibiza, when I went to Sicilia, I had very good time with my parents, even the Etna erupted and we could see it from the flat roof of my hotel, it was amazing! But when I travelled to Ibiza, I did not have a good time because I think that Ibiza is an island for a trip with your friends, then you can go to Ibiza discotheques and to parties every time. So, in two years I will come back and I will do all these things.I returned from Ibiza, and the next day I started the school. This summer has been one of the best summers of my life. And I hope that the next summer will be like this.

ABOUT HOLIDAYS

I think it is good doing new things you have never done. The majority people go to their villages to relax or to spend their holidays with their families and relatives. When I have holidays, I usually go with my parents on travel and we go to some countries of Europe. However, in the future, I would like to travel to another continent and I would like to do something amazing like going to the jungle or to an exotic island, climbing a mountain or just going to a place where the culture is different from mine and people are very strange and they do things I had never imagined. But I think that if you do not like practising risk sports or travelling a lot, it is also good to stay with your friends and relatives if it makes you happy.Every time you face up to a new challenge, it might be a once-in-a-lifetime experience and it makes you strange and more mature. So, in my opinion, it is good to have new experiences during your holidays but also stay with your family and their home environment.

PRIME SUSPECT

A woman entered in Della’s room and found her dead body. That night, the police arrived at Della’s room and started to investigate the murder: how she has been murdered, who is the murderer, and why he has murdered her.The police inspector who arrived at Della’s room, was a man, but there was a policewoman at the office who needed to prove herself, and her boss did not pass her any case or crime. Then they discovered that she had been murdered with a sharp object, and that she had sex with someone before she died. They also discovered the murderer did not steal anything from her. The case became more difficult that they thought. They interviewed a suspicious, a man who had sex with her that day. When the police inspector went to talk with his boss, he died accidentally, and his boss passed the murderer investigation to Jane Tennison, the ambitious policewoman and told her that he would be watching her every time so that she had to make no mistakes. After all that stuff, it was proved that the main and the only murderer was that boss. It seemed not to be real… too much twisted.

MY GREAT BIRTHDAY

Last year, my friends suggested going to the mountain to celebrate my birthday.First of all, it seemed to me a bad idea, because I did not like insects at all, and when I go to the mountain I feel uncomfortable because I am thinking every time about animals and insects, but I accepted eventually, and the following week we did it.We went by car, to a village near my town, it was very small and hardly anybody lives there. They told me that there was a surprise and I was very thrilled. We arrived at a bridge, and they said to me: “jump!”, I thought they were crazy and they explained to me that this was the great surprise; I could make my dream come true “we are going to do bungee jumping” they said to me.The first person who jumped was my friend Raimon, because he is the craziest in the group. I had never felt so nervous in my life, but I knew that I had to do it.

IT WAS NOT VERY EASY BUT CAROL KNEW SHE HAD TO DO IT

It was not easy, but Carol knew how to do it. First of all, she thought it could break her relationship with her close friend, Serena, but her mind and responsibility advised her to do it.Serena was dating a boy who was always involved in trouble and one day he involved his girlfriend in a very serious problem linked with drugs. Serena was so much in love with him that she was blind and her eyes could not see the real situation. He just wanted her as a way of selling some kind of drugs, and she did it all for love. At that time Caroline was always very worried for her best friend but Serena did not want to hear the truth that Caroline had told her. So one day Caroline decided it had to stop, that is why she told everything to Serena’s mum despite being conscious that Serena would not like it. At first her friend was very annoyed with her but then she understood she had done it for her own happiness, so Caroline split up with that brainless man.

MORE ABOUT CLOTHES

Our society provides us with plenty of signs that make us more and more consumer everyday. That is mostly due to industry, the money involved, fame, rich people… and other factors that knock at our door even if we do not want to.Young people, the most easily influenced, are the main victims moved by owners of businesses as if they were puppets… and convince teenagers that they have to imitate their idols. Some shops like “Zara” make it easier for children and their parents too, because they can buy clothes low-cost and keep “IN” without paying too much for fashion. In my opinion, it is not bad to be IN because it depends on every person, and shops like that, are a good way to buy more for less prize.

MY FRIEND'S WILDLIFE AS A CAMERAMAN

He earns a living as a freelance wildlife cameraman working all over the world. It is his job to provide the raw material from which a natural history programme is made up. If the lifestyle agrees with you, the travel and the filming can be great. There is fantastic variety: He often does not have the slightest idea where he is going or what he will see. There is also a certain pleasure in viewing some of the film you take on TV, though as he is often away working, he does not always catch the programmes when they are shown. It is not usual to get an “easy” filming job. One of the most challenging things is keeping your sense of humour under sometimes difficult circumstances. He expects in to work in the region of 300 days a year and he often wishes he had more time to play his guitar or see friends. Sometimes there is no point even unpacking, when he gets home. But it is an amazing job, even though there are frustrations. What he hates most is flying, he really can not cope with that. All things consulted, if it were not for the flying, this job would be just about perfect.

GOSSIP GIRL*

Gossip Girl is a TV serial that shows the scandalous life of Manhattan elite. During every chapter, there is always a voice that speaks in a second place and she herself considers that she is the main source to the viewers. It all happens around the Upper East Side high school. We can see how the daily routine of the richest persons’ sons… when they are partying, ending with their relationships or so on.But there is a message back around, because the main character realizes on her behaviour and try to change it as a simple person and not as her money influences her to act.The plot is very interesting; they are rich, famous, teenagers and gorgeous as well.. and that is why it surprises people. That guys’ group shows how much they love their lives but also how much they miss their privacy. Sometimes they have to kick another’s ass to be the first one and to take advantage of their possibilities. Everything could sound strange but I am sure it happens in real life.

LIFE IS BETTER WITHOUT TECHNOLOGY? (THOUGHTS)

Many people claim that we rely too much on technology and that it is taking over our lives. I think that it is difficult, however to imagine a life completely without technology. In my opinion there are many advantages to reduce the amount of technology that we use.Entertainment is a good example. Many people think that they would not have any fun without their TV or pc. In spite of this belief, people almost always enjoy themselves more by being more active and sociable.

NEW YEAR,NEW ATMOSPHERE

The beginning of that new course was not as bad as I thought. Maybe it is caused of things that people tell you like “ you can not imagine how difficult this year is”, “you will have to study so much!”. But really so far I think it is not so hard. Well, perhaps it is also because I have not begun studying a lot but I do my homework everyday and I try to ask about the things which are more difficult to me. What everyone says at the beginning is that if you have your subjects done everyday you will not have any problem to pass all your exams and even with very good marks if you try hard at it.But finally it is possible you are spent some time and you have to study hard the day before your exams.Anyway I believe I can do whatever I want if I have a good organization and I work a little everyday. Then I will be motivated and my parents will be proud of me. That is the most important thing for me and my motivation and the security in myself.

PUBS FOR CHILDREN

Nowadays, pubs are the real exponent for teenagers. They are places where you can meet your friends, listen to music even find a person who you can go with as a relationship as well.It is true that most people just want to go there to get drunk and to take drugs or other substances, and then they become addicted and suffer their effects (which annoys the behaviour of others). What is clear is that the worst thing is to be a teenager under the age, because between 16 or 17 it is also time to go out at night and there is no place for them.If the managers of pubs and their staff thought about opening some of them at night and sold tickets at a reasonable price and without selling alcoholic drinks (besides they will not be able because it is forbidden) they would earn much more money than now, because they agree just with a good music and atmosphere too.To sum up I think that the neighbours, who live near pubs, should be more considerate understanding the situation. I know that hearing shouts or loud noises at night while you are sleeping or trying to do it must not be comfortable for anyone, but the best option would be that pubs and neighbours came to an agreement where both could be benefited and then there would not be so many trouble.

PUBLIC FIGURES

I know that nowadays in our own society there are some people who are recognised by what they do. It could be about their family, job, skills or something like that.I would like to point out some figures that I look up to a lot. They are people who are famous in their own fields. For example, Gisele Bündchen is a Brazilian girl who is well-known all over the world because she has got the power to sparkle on the catwalk, and she is one of the best paid international models.Another one would be Ghandi (born in the India), who is a very good person that fought for peace while there was war and he did it in a way where there were no aggressions or violence.Comparing both, I can see that we can keep into consideration some different good values. As we can see with the first one, we can know everything about fashion, but if we find out in the life of the second public figure, we can understand what bravery means.

A "SMALL" DESERVED JOKE

When we were about 14, my friend Hannah and me were at the dinning room while we were thinking about planning a joke to Steve. He was Hannah’s boyfriend but suddenly she knew that he was going out with another girl. She was so sad… but I tried to help her. At the moment she was such a nervous and annoyed girl, that she thought to play him a trick because this situation. I could not help preparing her that kind of punishment. He was in a real fix.We thought about writing in our students magazine some embarrassing secrets about him to got him rid off. So we started typing everything and that article came to light a week later. All the students began laughing of him and making his life like a terrible nightmare. He was so powerless that he decided to find out who had written something like that and he locked up and down all over the high school till he found out someone. Finally I do not know why he discovered that we both had done everything and all was a mess. The headmaster almost suspend us for that. I had never felt so nervous in my life, but I knew that I had to do it.

THE FLYING AUNTIES

Few passengers on the British Airways flight to Honk Kong which took off from London Airport in August, were aware that their flight was setting a record for the company. In fact their plane was carrying 112 “unaccompanied minors” (the largest amount of children travelling without parents or guardians ever to have flown on a unique flight. Most of these children, aged from six backwards, were returning to Hong Kong after taking three-week English lessons at various language schools as long as an exchange scheme. The children were no left to their own devices, altogether. Airline rules say that children under twelve can only fly if they are accompanied from an adult. So, a group of three “aunties” and one “uncle” flew with them to get them entertained and solve with any problems that might arise. They are part of a British Airways team known as the “flying aunties”. These are BA employees who volunteer, in their own time, to produce an escorted service for unaccompanied minors to both European and long-haul destinations.
